Proud to call the Pacific Northwest his home, Michael first moved to Seattle from the east coast to further pursue his musical career more than a decade ago.

An alumni of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, as well as The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Michael is also the recipient of a full scholarship to Centrum’s Jazz in Port Townsend under the leadership of John Clayton. As a featured performer, he's participated in many workshops with notable musicians, including Joe La Barbera, Wynton Marsalis, Carl Allen, Ingrid Jensen, and Ron Miles. As a composer, his works have been commissioned and recorded by the Seattle Jazz Composers Ensemble, and also appeared on KEXP. He's been fortunate to perform in the Seattle area at a wide variety of venues ranging from ACT Theatre to Tula's Jazz Cafe to popular clubs like Nectar and The Tractor Tavern.

His approach to teaching piano, guitar, and bass focuses on balancing the fundamentals of technique, interpreting the subtleties of the music, and most of all having fun. Believing that it should always be enjoyable and rewarding, he teaches his students to follow their personal interests and work towards their own goals.
